about

DIY Rock 'n roller Dfactor Pop has a new EP! It's called "The Times Have Changed (And So Have We) and it's available here for streaming and download at Bandcamp!

The "The Times Have Changed (And So Have We)" EP contains four brand new songs from the pen of singer-songwriter Dfactor Pop (aka Action Dave, aka Dave Murrow). On this digital-only release are the songs:

1) The Times Have Changed (And So Have We) - a timely powerpop rockin' look at our confused nation and what it's done to us.

2) Surrounded & Outnumbered - A blistering guitar track that revs along nicely at about 170 BPMs, "Surrounded & Outnumbered" is a defiant song of speeding along the bumpy path of frustration.

3) Baby, It's Not You - Dfactor shows his playful side with a title cop of an old Shirelles song (later covered by The (early) Beatles) and twists it around for the anti-love song that rules.

4) Moody Love Song - Moody, indeed, with a sullen bass line carrying a sentimental plea to a lover or three.

Taken together, these four songs show a mature guy writing rockers and pop songs that are catchy, timely and relevant to garage rock and powerpop fans everywhere. Dfactor says:

"This EP could've easily been an LP, but we're all on shorter wavelengths these days. And with the overriding news of the day peeling our brains apart, it's best to keep the rockers short and fast, and the pop songs catchy and tuneful!"

He means it - All four songs capture Dfactor's love of fast, catchy guitars, rockin' rhythms, strong drums, and melodies that lodge in the brain for days, if not longer.

The new EP follows Dfactor's earlier 2016 new singles "It's Over for You", a rousing 2 min. rocker about death & mortality, and his politically tinged single folk-pop single "The Battle is Underway."

Dfactor Pop has been writing, recording and performing his rockin' pop songs since the early '00s, combining his love for punk rock, indie rock and catchy powerpop into a DIY catalog that shows no sign of slowing down! The hits just keep coming!

He plays guitar and sings live in the metro Phoenix area with his band Action Jets, which plays a whole bunch of other rockers from the musical brain of Dfactor Pop. Check actionjets.bandcamp.com for more powerpop and garage rock goodness.

THE TIMES HAVE CHANGED (AND SO HAVE WE)

Clicking to the Daily Mail to learn about the USA
A better job than local sites to tell us how fucked we are today,
Shootings every week, a new radical politique
Can’t believe how strange things are in our national republic

I once had faith in leaders, in the times they could be bought
Had to laugh at their stubborn core, even when they got caught
But what has changed you see, is Internet transparency
All our junk is being uncovered, ain’t no more secrecy

The Times Have Changed and So Have We
No More Trust No guarantee
Video cameras always on, better hide before you run
The Time Have Changed and So Have We

The Times Have Changed and So Have We
No More trust No guarantee
When will we all figure out the way to live peacefully?

SURROUNDED & OUTNUMBERED

Don't know why I'm still hangin' around
Shoulda headed out long ago,
Looking for an amazing adventure
Would rather go fast than slow.

Hand and hand with the Leader, we'll strike gold!
Ragin' hard to get it done before I'm old

Cuz I'm on the run, life in the sun
Yeah, I'm Surrounded & Outnumbered
Ain't no fun
Got something to prove, yeah, i'm on the move,
Everyone's got a "Something" deep inside,
I'll be your Something too!

Cuz I'm on the run, life in the sun
Yeah, I'm Surrounded & Outnumbered
Ain't no fun
Got something to prove, yeah, i'm on the move,
Everyone's got a "Something" deep inside,
I'll be your Something too!
Something Too!
Something Too!
Track Name: Baby, It's Not You
BABY, IT'S NOT YOU

Hey I’m feeling Good Again
Hey My troubles on the mend
Mom says I should look out and find someone like you
But I’ve more ways to spend my time and save some money too

Yeah, I need some time for playing And I need time for singing
And I need time for doing the things I wanna do
Maybe I’m done with dancin’? Or even a little romancin’?
They say there’s a time and place when love walks in,
and Baby, It’s Not You

Hey So here we are again
Hey Still on the prowl my friend?
Take some time to look inside, forget about yesterday
You’ve got something inside you, but it’s just not for me

Cuz I need some time for playing And I need time for singing
And I need time for doing the things I wanna do
Maybe I’m done with dancin’? And even a little romancin’?
They say there’s a time and place when love walks in,
but Baby, It’s Not You
Track Name: Moody Love Song
MOODY LOVE SONG

The end is near my friends, it’s coming soon
They say I’m wrong, but I think it’s next June
The winds are blowing, the sun is on high,
the signs are all in the sky
Just a few months left to ride the tide...

Better find out how best we can share
California gold might take us there
A clown in the woods, watch out that guy
One day, he’s gonna die
Je suis de’sole’
This is his goodbye.

So walk here with me, figuratively
I promise to never let go
You might get to see, these feelings for free
the sunshine will give you a glow
A walk up the hill, embrace your free will
Will you ever make it home?
Then let this moody love song carry you on

She calls to me across the miles
my darling, what’s taking so long?
Will we ever laugh and love again?
Or is this the end of our song?
I can’t stand any more of this
time for you to go down
Or maybe this moody love song will carry you on
