about
Fresh One is my take on the old sound of REM-pop-style updated for the Modern Age. Take it or Leave it, I say. Lyrically, it's another fine example of me pleading with the world to pay attention. It didn't work.
lyrics
Fresh One
Come on down and see what’s true,
Make the scene and “How are you?”
Two for ones of Brooklyn Brew,
step up to the bar.
Local bands playin’ loud,
above the chatter in the crowd,
You hang out, cuz you know that there’s
gold among the tar.
Energy starts pumpin’, right inside of you
Knowin’ that the music’s comin through
Oh hey, here comes a fresh one,
Yeah now, here comes a fresh one,
Hey ho, here comes a fresh one now
It’s time to kick up some action,
you try to make the connection,
Mmmm yeah, this is a fresh one…
Look around it’s clear to see,
that I like you and you like me
Pair us up and place your bets,
High hand takes it all
Better yet let’s all stay dry,
why now keep it dignified?
Cuz when you’re wet,
you liquefy right into a wall
So here I stand, shouting,
“it’s right in front of you!”
Maybe I’m the guy to see it through….?
Yeah, yeah here comes a fresh one,
Oh yes, here comes a fresh one,
La, la, here comes a fresh one now
Damn right, it’s my obsession,
your turn, relay the passion
Mmmm yeah, this is a fresh one…
This is the bridge to understanding
This is the bridge to your heart
Dreaming helps to kill the pain,
sunshine’s better than the rain,
Find a glimpse of goodness,
that’s where you wanna start
And when you walk away tonight,
pray that things will work out right,
And you will find a better light,
right inside your heart
Love is a virtue, it comes from deep inside
Why not try a little kindness?
Oh, yeah here comes a fresh one,
Uh-huh, here comes a fresh one,
Hot damn! Here comes a fresh one now
I like to kick up some action,
just to provoke a reaction,
Mmmm yeah, this is a fresh one…
